The principles of neuroplasticity tell us that repetition and intensity matter. But most patients only get an hour or two of speech therapy per week. I think about this a lot. It's why I created the Tactus Therapy apps, and later the Virtual Rehab Center for SLPs. Now, I'm excited to announce a home exercise program your patients can use on their own. Introducing... the Virtual Rehab Center At Home! 🎉⚙️ How it Works🎯 A customized plan. Patients answer a few questions that place them on one of six pathways: mild, moderate, or severe aphasia; dysarthria; or mild or moderate cognitive-communication deficits. 📊 Auto-adjusting difficulty. Exercises get easier or harder based on performance. When a patient reaches an exercise's highest level two days in a row, a new one unlocks. 👍 Feedback and cues. Voice recognition listens to spoken answers and gives feedback on speech production. There are also built-in hints to help patients move forward if they're stuck. 🗓️ Flexible practice. Patients can log in any time! They can practice for 10 minutes or 45, all at once or split across the day. If they need to take a break, it's easy to pick up where they left off.
🤔 How is it different from the apps? The Tactus Therapy apps target a specific skill, which makes them a great fit when you know exactly what a patient needs to work on. The Virtual Rehab Center At Home brings speech, language, and cognitive practice together in one place, with a plan that guides patients toward their next steps, so they don't have to figure that out themselves. 🗓️ When to recommend it
For over a decade, Tactus has been building tools to help your patients keep moving forward. Thank you for trusting us along the way. 💜 Want more details? The Virtual Rehab Center At Home is for adults with aphasia (mild, moderate, severe), dysarthria, or cognitive-communication deficits (mild, moderate). To make sure it's a good fit, every patient gets a free 7-day trial when they sign up. All the best, |

Our memory is limited, so we write things down to remember later: appointment times, phone numbers, what the pharmacist said. Unfortunately, for someone with an acquired brain injury, this simple strategy asks a lot. It may sound simple, but effective note-taking takes practice. 🤔 Why note-taking is harder than it looks To be successful, your patient has to: Follow what the speaker is saying (sustained attention) Tune out distractions (selective attention) Switch between listening and writing...
Have you ever suggested a writing goal and had a client tell you, "Oh, I don't really write"? If they're thinking about letters or essays... that's a fair answer. But have them really think about their day. They probably texted a family member, typed into a search bar, or jotted a reminder on a sticky note. Most adults write every day. They just might not think of it as writing. While it's easy to assume texting and email are only for younger generations, older adults are more connected than...
